Watched leena norm's video on a goodreads alternative called storygraph - anyone tried this yet?

It looks like a useful and pretty site (although can I just admit the recommendations, no matter how good, will not help me a bit, given my reading habits are 90% guided by whatever I see at the library or a friend loans me? ie I'm a giant freeloader and not particularly proud of it?). The site's owner (interviewed in the video linked above) seems lovely and the whole enterprise gives me pillowfort vibes.

Plus, not owned by Jeff Bezos.Besoz? Bozes? Bezzers.

In that vein, tho, I've at least been starting to make more use of my library's reservations and cross-library loans systems, since I haven't been able to go in person and just pick up whatever random cover that catches my eye. Maybe I could use storygraph and librimood to keep pushing that along until it's actually a habit.

That might be good. I take it y'all don't have anything like Shelf Service at your local library?

Our library has a sort of system like that - the coding is just not very good and descriptions tend to be non-existent, so unless you know exactly what book you want, it's hard to find anything. Such a headache when you're looking for, like, Book 4 in a legacy comics character's run in a series that regularly re-starts at 1.

Again, if I actually start looking into recommendations and have this sort of specific info (rather than just "poke around and see what jumps at me), I could actually make better use of this :)
